"The Dance"

Years ago, the famous country singer Garth Brooks released a song about life called "The Dance". There's a line that keeps playing over and over in my head this morning from it which states, "I could have missed the pain but I'd have had to miss the dance."

Yesterday, I danced one of the most beautiful dances I've ever danced; one other time was at my other brother's wedding. I was honored and humbled.  When it was time for the mother son dance, my brother had my sister and myself dance with him for our mother is no longer with us. In fact, we had no parent in which to hold him in this moment. And it was during that moment of time that I began to feel this scripture come alive through myself and my siblings. "But you have seen, for You observe trouble and grief, To repay it by Your hand. The helpless commits himself to you; You are the helper of the fatherless." Psalm 10:14

So many times during our lives we have had to rely on one another to come together and make decisions no one should have to make. But we did it and we will continue on. And, it's only by the grace of our heavenly Father we have come this far. So, in honor of this Father's day, in which we may feel saddened, may we always embrace "The dance"
